AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

Please follow the instructions for the type of wrap applied to your tattoo. Proper aftercare is essential to protecting your tattoo as it heals.

SPRAY GUARD

Initial Care

  • Do not wash your tattoo until 12 hours after the spray is applied.

  • Do not pick at the guard or let anything abrasive rub against it.

  • After 12 hours, carefully wash the wrap with Hustle Bubbles Foam Soap.

  • Use only your hand when washing. Do not use anything abrasive.

  • Allow your tattoo to air-dry for a few minutes. Do not use towels or paper towels.

Moisturizing

Once dry, apply a very thin layer of Hustle Butter directly over the tattoo and spray guard. You may also use an unscented moisturizer, such as Lubriderm or Cetaphil.

Do not oversaturate the tattoo or leave excess product on the skin. Your skin should feel smooth and look slightly shiny, not slimy or slippery. A little goes a long way!

Continue washing and moisturizing 3 times per day.

Peeling & Healing

Your tattoo may look extra flaky because of the spray guard. This is normal, and consistent moisturizing will help.

The guard will naturally peel off as your tattoo heals over the next few weeks. Peeling may begin as early as day 2 and can take up to 2 weeks. Do not pick at the flakes; allow them to fall off naturally as you wash and moisturize.

SARAN WRAP

  • Remove the wrap after 1 hour or when you arrive home.

  • After removing it, rinse your tattoo with water only and gently pat dry with a clean paper towel.

  • I recommend waiting until the next day to shower.

  • Do not apply any products for the first night to allow the tattoo to dry-heal.

  • Begin applying a thin layer of hustle butter or unscented lotion 3 times per day as needed.

  • Continue applying moisturizer as needed daily for the next 2 weeks.

SANIDERM

  • Leave Saniderm on for 5 days, unless instructed otherwise.

  • Remove it slowly in a warm shower.

  • Gently wash away any residue with warm water and unscented soap.

  • For the remaining 9 days, apply a thin layer of unscented lotion as needed.

THINGS TO AVOID DURING HEALING

Your body needs time to heal, and certain activities can interfere with that process. Please avoid the following during your tattoo's healing period:

  • Sun exposure: Do not apply sunscreen during the 2-week healing period. Instead, cover your tattoo with breathable clothing.

  • Swimming: Do not soak your tattoo.

  • Gym workouts: Avoid excessive sweating. Light activity may be okay, but avoid working out the tattooed area.

  • Beaches: Avoid swimming and excessive sun exposure.

  • Saunas and steam rooms.

  • MMA or other vigorous activities that cause sweating, friction, or impact to the tattooed area.

  • Picking or scratching your tattoo.

IMPORTANT AFTERCARE POLICIES

Please follow my aftercare instructions.

I understand that different artists, friends, and family members may recommend different healing methods. I have developed my own aftercare process based on what I have tested and found works best for my tattoos. Please follow my instructions for the work I do. If you have questions about using a different product, message me first so I can let you know if it is appropriate.

Tattoo Damage & Touch-Ups

Once your tattoo leaves the studio, its care and healing are your responsibility. Neglecting aftercare can lead to damage or affect the final result.

If a tattoo is damaged due to neglect, any necessary touch-up will be charged at the full rate. This includes removing your wrap earlier than instructed without contacting me first.

Touch-ups can be requested, but I only perform them on tattoos that are at least 1 month old. Tattoos should heal close to how they looked when leaving the studio. I maintain high standards of sanitation and hygiene, and proper aftercare is equally important in preventing damage or infection.

My touch-ups are free for the first 6 months. Any time after that I will be charging.

Keep in Touch!

I know tattoo aftercare can feel overwhelming, especially if this is your first tattoo. Please feel free to message me with questions about products, activities, or how your tattoo looks while healing. I’ll do my best to respond within a few hours.

You’re also welcome to send me a photo of your healed tattoo! (I would love to see how it's healed no matter how much time has gone by!)
